There is a new non-profit in town called "Friends of Meals on Wheels of Frederick County."

Friends was established to help generate some funds for the Frederick County Department of Aging Meals on Wheels Program.

This is a vital program for our seniors and Friends is excited to announce their 1st fundraiser which will be held at SILK & BURLAP on Friday, November 9th from 6 - 9 PM. Guests will be treated to appetizers/beverages and will receive 10% off their purchases, which will go to "Friends".

Silk & Burlap is located at 28 East Patrick Street in downtown Frederick. This ladies store is really cool and very eclectic with neat things for your wardrobe and your home. If you can make it...please RSVP online to RSVP@SILKANDBURLAP.COM.

Please take an hour or two and attend this fund raising event. The Department of Aging Friends of Meals on Wheels program helps seniors remain healthy and independent in their communities, thus reducing the risk of disability and the need for more costly medical interventions. Studies show that our beloved seniors are living longer due in part to programs such as Meals on Wheels.
